MCAT believes that Media Education is a vital part of empowering young people. Our kids seek out moving images as the fastest way to learn new things and exercise their imaginations. Kids who are media literate are more prepared to navigate a world dominated by social media and media influencers.
And there’s team-building, skill-building, computer science and having fun as important goals.
MCAT offers Animation Classes on Saturdays during the school year and several media camps during school holidays and during the summer.
MCAT also conducts programs in movie-making through Missoula’s After-School Flagship Program. We conduct workshops at Lowell, C.S. Porter, Washington, Meadow-Hill Middle Schools and Hellgate High School. MCAT also sponsors a Media Lab at Sentinel High School which has produced award winning programs shown on Montana PBS
MCAT offers tours for teachers who would like to show their students local media facilities.
