Many
options on getting involved

MCAT
offers Media Assistance Grants to civic groups and non-profit
organizations. The grant comes in the form of 12 hours of MCAT staff
time to produce a program for your group. We have served over 300
groups this way in the last five years. And we have helped produce
concerts, key-note addresses, lecture series, organizational profiles,
coverage of special events and anniversary messages.
There
are many ways to produce an MCAT show:
you can
work with MCAT staff on your civic group effort,
you can learn about cameras and editing and tell your own story in
every detail,
you can import a program and sponsor it here
in Missoula.
Some
churches tape their services and run that tape in a weekly time slot.
Some producers only work in the studio and edit and title their
programs as they happen. Other producers borrow cameras from MCAT and
shoot interviews and events in Missoula and edit the raw tapes into a
finished program. And some producers sponsor a program made somewhere
else by paying the annual user fee and taking responsiblity for the
local exhibition of the program.
If you have
questions about applying for a Media Assistance Grant, or sponsoring a
program on the MCAT channels, call us at 542-6228, Monday through
Friday noon to 7pm.
